Mesotherapy

Dr. Janna Crosnoe asks, "Ever hear of mesotherapy?"
This procedure was just accredited in the U.S. in 2004 by the American Society of Asthetics. This is not a new procedure. Mesotherapy is well known in France, where it was first used in 1958, and has now spread around the world. It's the practice of injecting small amounts of medications and vitamins into the skin to bring their healing properties to the treated areas. Mesotherapy is used in this country primarily for reducing cellulite and fat in unwanted areas.
Mesotherapy can be done easily in the office, taking between 30 and 60 minutes, depending on the areas treated. There is usually minimal bruising and swelling, and the patient can return to his or her daily activities immediately after the procedure. Pain is minimized by using both topical and injected anesthetic.
Some people notice results in four sessions. Most people will require from six to ten sessions per body area to achieve results. The treatments are spaced one to two weeks apart. Diet and exercise will help maintain one's longterm results.
